Cosmetic Products
Cosmetic products are creams and lotions which are used topically for cleansing and skincare regimes, and only deliver their ingredients to the uppermost layer of the skin’s Epidermis. They have a very low concentration of active ingredients and can be bought over the counter on any high street. Examples of Cosmetic products are: Liz Earle, Clinique, Lancôme and Estée Lauder.
Cosmeceutical Products
Cosmeceutical products have medical and pharmaceutical benefits that cosmetic products cannot provide, as they are applied to the deeper, innermost layers of the epidermis, and are highly effective for the treatment of acne, acne Roseacea, pigmentation, cholasma and dehydration. Cosmeceutical products should always be prescribed by a Skincare Therapist or a Dermatologist. Examples of these include Elizabeth Arden Pro and PRIORI® Skincare
