JH Skincare specialises for the treatment of redness, red veins, rosacea and acne, at our clinic in Sydenham near Beckenham. These are effectively treated with Intense Pulse Light (IPL) or laser and Dermalux LED, with minimal downtime or risk in just a few quick, easy treatments. Suitable for face, neck and chest.
All clients new to IPL Laser treatments at the clinic must have a one-off Initial FREE Consultation and Patch Test before treatment can commence. This applies regardless of clients having had IPL treatments at a previous practice.
Redness, Red Veins and Rosacea
Light energy emitted from the IPL Laser is applied to the skin where it is absorbed by the blood vessels, heating them to a point where they are destroyed. Following treatment, the vessels quickly clear as they are reabsorbed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original vessels.
Recommended treatments: 3 – 6 treatments at 4-week intervals. Courses of treatments are recommended to deliver the best results, depending on the concern. However, the number of treatments required varies from client to client and depends on many factors. Small lesions may clear in just a single treatment.
What a happy client has said
I’ve always had very fair skin that burned or flushed easily. I’ve taken care to keep out of the sun as much as possible but still, now in my sixties, I had a lot of damage, redness and red veins especially to my cheeks which used to embarrass me.
So far at JH Skin Care Clinic I’ve had 5 IPL laser treatments for redness and pigmentation, each time followed by Dermalux which calms the skin and the improvement has been amazing. My cheeks are much paler and other sun damage like brown or red spots have faded.
The Clinic has recommended two or three more treatments to see off some stubborn spots which should complete the process. It’s wonderful to see my skin so much more even coloured and not to have to wear masses of foundation as a cover up.
The atmosphere in the Clinic is so calm and professional and the clinicians so friendly and supportive. You can tell they really care about what they do. It’s a lovely place to visit and I always come out feeling better.
Acne
Light energy emitted from the IPL laser targets the overactive sebaceous glands and destroys the p.acnes bacteria on the skin surface greatly reducing inflammation and infections. The light also stimulates the production of new collagen to improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of red and brown blemishes often associated with acne breakouts. Cystic acne cannot be treated with our system initially, however, Dermalux LED is used to reduce inflammation then, followed by IPL laser to treat the infections. You must stop using antibiotics and Retinol 1 month before treatment. To avoid spreading infection, only touch your skin when cleansing, moisturising or applying and removing make-up.
Recommended number of treatments: 4 – 8 plus treatments spaced every 2 – 3 weeks. However, the number of treatments required varies from client to client and is dependent on many factors and often results can be seen after a few treatments.
What a happy client has said
I have been receiving IPL and Dermalux treatments for the past 8 months with JH Skincare after having suffered with acne for 10 years. I can confidently say it has made a huge difference to my skin and it feels great to be able to leave the house without feeling ashamed everyday. Not to mention the lovely staff who you feel really care about looking after you and getting results for you. The clinic is a gem that I would happily recommend to others!

FAQs
The treatment is mildly uncomfortable but there is no need for anaesthesia and the procedure is quick and efficient. The sensation varies but most people describe the treatment as a hot pin prick.
We provide a FREE IPL Laser Patch Test and Consultation. During this, the number of treatments required will be recommended depending on the severity of the condition. For best results, we will always recommend a course of treatment.
Almost everyone with Fitzpatrick Skin Types 1 – 4. If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, having IVF, or taking Roaccutane (acne medication), you are contra-indicated to treatment.
Tan skin cannot be treated and sun exposure must be avoided 1 month before or 1 month after treatment. Always use our Light Protect SPF 50 whilst having treatment.
Following treatment, the area may appear red and raised and you may experience a tingling sensation. This is completely normal and should settle over the next few days.
