Skin Tags
These are small, soft, benign growths of skin that are Commonly found in areas where the skin folds or experiences friction, such as the neck, armpits, groin, eyelids, and under the breasts. They are typically flesh-coloured or slightly darker, and they hang off the skin by a thin stalk, ranging from a few millimetres to about 1.5 centimetres in diameter.
Causes:
- Friction: Skin tags often develop where skin rubs against skin or clothing.
- Genetics: A family history of skin tags may increase the likelihood of developing them.
- Hormonal changes: Pregnant women and people with certain hormonal imbalances may be more prone to skin tags.
- Age: Skin tags are more common in middle-aged and older adults.

Went to JH Skincare during a recent flying visit to London, where I had a couple of skin tags removed.Janis was most welcoming and managed to give me a last minute appointment. The staff were friendly and professional, and I’m delighted with the results.
Milia
These are small, white or yellowish pearl-like bumps that are firm to the touch and are commonly found around the eyes, cheeks, forehead, and nose. They are made up of keratin, a protein found in skin, hair, and nails, trapped beneath the skin’s surface and are usually 1-2 millimetres in diameter.
Causes:
Milia develop when dead skin cells get trapped under the skin’s surface, rather than shedding normally. This can happen due to:
- Skin damage: Conditions like burns, blisters, or sun damage can cause milia.
- Use of heavy skincare products: Thick creams or ointments can sometimes clog the pores and lead to milia formation.
- Aging: As the skin ages, it can become less efficient at naturally exfoliating, leading to milia

I’ve been going to JH Skincare Clinic to treat my milia, and am always impressed with the results. After just two appointments with Janis, my milia has practically disappeared, and I feel much more confident as a result. JH Skincare’s philosophy is that good and healthy skin is achieved through a combination of professional treatments and a consistent skincare regime. At every appointment Janis not only extracts my milia, but also recaps the fundamentals of my daily skincare routine, ensuring that I am taking care of my skin at home. She is very knowledgeable and I would not trust anyone else with my skin!
Seborrheic Warts
These are commonly known as seborrheic keratoses, and are non-cancerous skin growths that often appear as we age. These growths are typically brown, black, or light tan and have a waxy, scaly, rough and slightly elevated appearance, giving them a “stuck-on” look. They can vary in size from small to over an inch or more, commonly found on the chest, back, shoulders, face, and scalp. Although they can appear anywhere on the body except the palms and soles, Individuals can have just one or several hundred seborrheic keratoses.

As an update from my previous review concerning pigmentation on my ‘gardener’s’ hands I will continue in the same theme but this time moles- I had brown moles popping up all over my neck in clusters and individual bigger ones around my collar bone.
Janis and Jenny Clinic to the rescue again, obliterating them in two sessions, only I was advised that what I thought were moles were seborrheic warts and skin tags. It was also very reassuring to have these examined professionally as you will be advised if they need to be checked out by a doctor.
Expect professional pre-treatment advice and examination; immaculate clinic and treatment rooms; a relatively painless procedure; emailed aftercare and most importantly a beautiful clear skin afterwards!
Warts
These are small, benign growths on the skin that are caused by an infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV). They can appear on different parts of the body and are generally harmless, though they can be unsightly and sometimes uncomfortable. There are different types of warts, depending on their appearance and location. They have a rough, grainy surface, and they may have tiny black dots (which are clotted blood vessels) on their surface.
- Colour: They can be flesh-coloured, white, pink, or brown.
- Size: Warts can range in size from a few millimetres to over a centimetre in diameter

I had not heard of the clinic until I did a google search of places around me. Really amazing service and felt really comfortable during the whole experience. I went to have a wart removed that had become painful after I tried home remedies and they were really supportive and reassuring. Talked me through the entire treatment and very clear in instructions and aftercare.
Had a follow up session to check it was gone and they were again very caring and friendly – great results too and the wart on my finger was gone. Would really recommend this clinic and the friendly and personal service they offer.
