What a happy client has said
As a lifelong gardener who enjoys the sunshine and getting my hands into the soil, not always with gloves, the resultant pigmentation to the back of my hands was almost inevitable. After four sessions of IPL Laser, I now have fabulous new hands which do not deserve to belong to my arms! They are soft and silky without any pigmentation and the beautiful lotions recommended for aftercare together with sunscreen and professional advice, will ensure that they will remain so.
I combined the IPL Laser with another neglected area, my upper lip, which I had been plucking for years. After five monthly sessions, the dark hairs have ceased to appear and I am left with a few white hairs which will be treated with electrolysis. For anyone nervous about pain from IPL Laser, this is constantly monitored during treatment with cooling lotions applied both during and after treatment along with specific instructions for best results from a highly professional clinic with an emphasis on safety, good practice, and, from my experience, excellent results.
FAQs
Short pulses of light are released and are readily absorbed by the high concentration of melanin found within the pigmented lesions. The rapid absorption of light energy heats the melanin and causes the destruction of the melanin-rick cells. This triggers the body’s natural healing processes to stimulate the growth of new, healthy skin tissue.
Most patients describe the discomfort as mild and tolerable and no anaesthesia is required.
The number of sessions will depend on the type and size of the pigmented lesion, but typically a minimum of 3 and up to 6 sessions are recommended.
Treatments are carried out every 4-6 weeks. Following your course of treatments, top-up sessions are performed as required, usually once or twice a year depending on hormonal influence, especially during menopause.
Most people are suitable for treatment. We will provide a thorough Consultation and Patch Test 1 week before the commencement of treatment to make sure you are safe for treatment and it will be successful for you. Large, dark, mottled or raised pigmentation cannot be treated and may need to be checked by a dermatologist. Large, dark moles should not be treated, nor should lesions covering a large part of the body. The pigmented marks that respond the best are superficial lesions such as those caused by sun damage (sun spots, liver spots) and freckles.
